Artedomus leading a new creative eco-system

Sydney showroom

For thirty-four years, the company formerly known as Domus Ceramics has been importing exclusive Italian floor and wall finishes, but as the industry changed so did they. Today, managing director Phil Brenton says, 'We don’t see ourselves as a supplier of tiles or a supplier of bathware, we see ourselves as being part of the design industry.'

Part of this partnership with the design industry is also about changing their approach. Moving from a simple supply-chain model to more of a creative eco-system that encompasses the manufacturer, the home-owner and everyone in between. This has allowed Phil and his team to work closely on projects to deliver exceptional results across the residential and commercial sectors.

Houses like the below have benefitted from the collaborative approach that Artedoums brings to the design community.

They have also been able to create the unique New Volumes collection, which brought together a pool of leading local talent to work in a material not often seen in the portfolios of our furniture and object designers. Elba stone, an extremely strong and durable white stone, can only be sourced from a single quarry in Greece, and generally is imported in slabs measuring around 20mm thick. This collection further established Artedomus beyond a traditional supplier.

Working nationally with four showrooms and four warehouses across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane provides a unique offering, as there are not many companies out there that do the breadth of products across the range of cities that Artedomus does.

One of the driving philosophies at Artedomus is to inspire. To inspire architects, designers and anyone who is interested in design and interested in the products they bring in. Their goal is to inspire those who design.

Offering timeless products is very important to Artedomus. They are constantly looking for something that is new and something that is different. This is evidenced by their extensive ranges from beautiful Japanese ceramics reflected in the Inax (https://houselab.com.au/advice/the-global-glaze) range or the more recent Beton Collection (https://houselab.com.au/advice/the-beton-collection-from-artedomus)

By closely monitoring other markets around the world, they are forever looking for the next thing that is going to keep their clients interested, and also keep themselves interested and passionate.

They are focussed on discovering and creating new and interesting things, and sharing them with the Australian public. This is where Artedomus are adding real value to the design industry and the spaces we inhabit.
